BPD partnered with the Ohio State Patrol on May 9th for traffic interdiction on I-76 using the OSP air unit. Thanks to OSP Post #67 here in Portage County for the partnership.

BPD recently held our Senior Breakfast event in partnership with Applebees. Our officers and volunteers served breakfast to our community’s seniors on Thursday April 27th and Friday April 28th. Thank you to everyone who participated and to our seniors who came out to spend time with our staff – we appreciate it!
Officer Ahrens and Officer Ryba recently hosted a group of local scouts for a tour of BPD and an inside look at a police cruiser. Thanks for hanging out with us boys!
BPD recently updated our cruiser graphics to a traditional black and white color scheme. The graphics incorporate our updated agency patch and mirror the color scheme of our community school district.
On April 20, family & friends of George Oblak gathered at BPD to present a $10,000 check in George’s memory to benefit our Shop With a Cop & Kindergarten Safety School programs. BPD was recently contacted by the grandmother of a very young resident – 5-year old Connor (he is the the little guy dressed up in a police officer outfit) and invited to “crash” Connor’s police themed birthday party. BPD was at the Kelso House on Sat. April 15th for their community Easter Egg Hunt event. All of the kiddos in attendance had a great time!
Officer Brett Dinkelman and other community volunteers placed colorful pinwheels at town center recently. The pinwheels represent the number of child abuse cases investigated last year in our county.
